Ted Ellsworth's memoir covers his assignment to a tank regiment in North Africa and the campaign there; his participation in the invasion of Italy and the second wave of D-Day; incredible accounts of fierce battles, being taken prisoner by the Germans, and trying to get home to the U.S. and his hometown of Dubuque, Iowa.
